Mission Statement / Editorial Focus
Navy Pen Literary Magazine is a quarterly publication dedicated to publishing poetry, fiction, and creative nonfiction of exceptional quality, organized around a single open-ended theme each issue. Founded in 2025, Navy Pen approaches each issue as a curated literary object with its own atmosphere and identity, selecting work not only for individual merit but for the way pieces speak to and illuminate each other. We are drawn to writing that is emotionally sharp, formally distinctive, and willing to take risks. Our editorial focus is on the weight of language and the integrity of form, and we seek work from writers at all stages of their careers whose voices are fully their own.
