Pencil Magazine is an experimental print publication of writing and visual art in which all the contents have been created in graphite pencil on paper. All writing appears in the writers’ own handwriting. The mission of Pencil Magazine is to create an opportunity for artists and writers to connect or reconnect with an unsung, basic tool for creative expression — the pencil — and to inspire our readers to make time and space for analog experiences. Though pencils are cheap and nearly universal, entire worlds can emerge from a single pencil.
