Magazine

OUR MISSION IS TO EDUCATE, ENTERTAIN, AND INSPIRE. We're an eclectic group with different tastes and backgrounds. We want our new magazine to reflect that diversity - all genres, styles, and shapes are welcome. We do hold ourselves to very high standards. As such, we hope to publish well-written, high-quality writing. We will not publish any work that includes sexual or violent content, or in any way promotes bias of any kind. In partnership with the Danville Public Library, we honor the Freedom to Read but have no patience for misinformation.

Each well-written poem and/or story should be in a separate file, attached to an email. Please include, in the body of the email, your current "relationship" with Danville (Illinois for Volume 1), along with any additional biographical information (Contributor's Notes) should one or more of your submissions be selected for publication. Here's the address: [email protected] THE LOOK AND FEEL OF EACH PAGE In general, our team prefers Times Roman (12 or 14 point) though we appreciate the urge to be creative. 1 (One) inch margins are the minimum guideline for "blank space" that serves to frame the writing. PROSE (SHORT STORIES, ESSAYS, OR MEMOIR) We appreciate long fictions, and short ones, too. Our guidelines (no more than 7500 words, double-spaced) are only reflections of our hope to include as many different works by as many different writers as possible. POETRY Consider the shape of the poem on the page. Prose poetry and poetic prose are also welcome, but no more than 3 pages for any single poem, please.
