Submissions Policy
SPRR considers submissions during two submission periods in January and July. For more information, see our GUIDELINES: July 1st to July 31st, 2016 Non-themed January 1st to January 31st, 2017 Themed (see website for themes). GENERAL: Only one submission per submission period. We consider simultaneous submissions. Email your submission to: sprreview [at symbol] gmail. com Include an approximately three-to-five line bio, written in the third person. Bio length will be enforced. We retain the right to edit bios. POETRY: Send 1 - 3 poems in a SINGLE Word document. NO pdf. nor .dat files. All work must be in English, excluding, of course, the case where a non-English word or term is intrinsic to the poem. Previously published poems will be considered for republication in SPRR on a case-by-case basis. NOTE: As SPRR is 5 ½ x 8 ½ in size, poems extending to the margins of a standard sized page might have lines breaks different from what the poet initially inscribed in his or her submission. We try to avoid this, but if we have to, we’ll try never to break lines on articles, prepositions, etc. ART: Black & white only. 1 - 3 pieces. We like Realism: photographs of urban and rural decay, or obsolescence, though we don't limit ourselves to those areas when considering art. Submit as separate files in a single email. Submissions must be sent as graphics files (jpeg, tiff). Please try to limit each file to no more than 7-8 MB, high-resolution, preferably 300 dpi. They should not be under 250 KB, if at all possible (low-sized files may look grainy if published). By submitting to us you grant us permission, if we select your work, to publish it. No separate author's consent form or proof will be sent out. All work must be that of the submitter. Payment is one contributor copy. San Pedro River Review acquires first serial rights to accepted pieces, except for work published previously in other publications. Copyright reverts to the author after publication.
