Mission Statement / Editorial Focus
Sensitive Skin features writing (fiction, poetry, memoirs, essays, and reviews) as well as art and music, without rules or boundaries, by both famous and emerging artists, writers, and musicians from around the globe. We were originally a print magazine, but switched to online only in 2016 - print was just too expensive and unwieldly (The print issues are still available on-demand on Amazon). We do, however, continue to publish books in print (on-demand and as e-books); so far we've published 15 books - novels, memoirs, poetry, and translations. Our 16th book, THE ABSENCE OF ANGELS, by Christian X. Hunter, will be released March 15, 2023. I've enclosed the cover as a "recent issue." You can find a complete list of our books here: https://sensitiveskinmagazine.com/sensitive-skin-books/ Our History: Sensitive Skin began as a print venture from New York’s Lower East Side in the 1991, and published such literary luminaries such as Richard Hell, Steve Cannon, Jack Micheline, Penny Arcade, John Farris, Eileen Myles, Lynne Tillman, Patrick McGrath, Bob Holman, Maggie Estep, Emily XYZ, Herbert Huncke and Joel Rose. Sensitive Skin was reborn in the summer of 2010, and has since presented original work by esteemed writers, artists and musicians such as Samuel R. Delaney, Gary Indiana, Sharon Mesmer, Charles Gatewood, Gretchen Faust, Alex Katz, Peter Blauner, Hal Sirowitz, Arthur Nersesian, Maggie Estep, Michael A.
