Sun Thief is preparing its first title now, heading into typesetting for ARCs with an official release slated for September 20th 2026. As Sun Thief launches publicly on social media this month, we are refining our editorial identity around being a translation-forward press. While we intend to publish original English-language poetry in our biannual journal, we are increasingly positioning Sun Thief as a home for translators, especially those working at the edge of language, form, and cultural encounter. Our long-term vision for the press is to cultivate a space where translation is understood as an exploratory mode of thinking for writers, a vital element of literary innovation. We aim to support translators and writers experimenting with process, voice, and the boundaries between self and other permeated by language.
