Mission Statement / Editorial Focus
The Bluebird Word believes brevity in writing brings purpose. We are looking for flash writing (fiction and nonfiction) under 1,000 words and poems to capture short takes on life. This online journal's space encourages slowing down, focusing on each word’s breath, and drawing out a story’s essence. We are eager to support writing from emerging as well as established writers and seek submissions from all cultural backgrounds and experience levels. Please send work that tells a story where the reader reflects and lingers in your writing.
