The Long and The Short of It examines how themes can be explored across genre and form, and how the chosen form helps shape our artistic impulses and responses. Every other month we publish four intriguing works of flash or long-form from any genre. By putting these forms side-by-side, we seek to provide a home for both to flourish, and to encourage writers to attempt forms they may otherwise ignore. We are also a safe landing place for hybrid pieces, since our model allows for any genre, including mixed, to be chosen. We encourage writers from marginalized groups to submit.
