Do You Have Any Cover Letter Advice?
Short and direct is ideal!
What Do You Look For In A Submission?
First of all, we look for writing that is a pleasure to read. The subject may be difficult or thorny, but the work should present it in a way that a reader will enjoy.
What Advice Do You Have For First-time Submitters?
Put your work out there as much as possible, and it will find its home. When your work is not accepted, it is never personal, and decisions reflect a particular publication's limitations. It is never a judgment of the worth of your writing.
Do You Have A Favorite Unsolicited Submission Discovery Or Anecdote?
I found a short story that was perfect in its craft: every word contributed to its resonant meaning. While lengthy, the writing was economical without feeling bare. The author told me it had been rejected 71 times. We will nominate it for awards.
Who Is Your Ideal Reader?
Readers of THE NOMAD are often writers, but they don't need to be. Anyone who enjoys reading!
