Mission Statement / Editorial Focus
The journal’s name, The Pinch, references our city’s very first community and reflects the heart of our city’s history and the soul of our creative approach. It commemorates our commitment to publishing diverse voices that speak from the periphery as well as the center of contemporary written and artistic expression. Since our founding in the 1970s, we've embraced the idea of being traditionally transgressive, thereby allowing The Pinch to evolve with, challenge, and make its mark in the prevailing literary community.
