Forest Avenue Press, founded in Portland, Oregon, in 2012, publishes page-turning literary fiction. We empower authors through transparency, organize many events, encourage our readers to support indie bookstores, and applaud the achievements of other small presses. Forest Avenue is the force behind the Main Street Writers Movement. (Parades welcome.) Distribution: Legato Publishers Group, a PGW affiliate.

We open annually, Jan. 1-March 1, for literary novels by residents of the U.S.--with the exception of 2017 due to launching the Main Street Writers Movement. We frequently give feedback to our submitters, we do not charge reading fees, and we list likes and dislikes on our submission page to maximize our chances of connecting with authors who are the right fits for our catalog.
