  • Mission Statement / Editorial Focus
Birds, LLC is a small, independent poetry press based out of Minneapolis, New York, and Raleigh. Founded in 2009 as a poetry publisher that would take an active role in editing and marketing the work of talented writers, Birds, LLC was conceived as an organization that rejects the morass of first book contests and the disinterested marketing style of university presses. Birds, LLC strives to find innovative manuscripts from talented writers and specializes in close author relationships because they believe great books are the result of productive collaborations between editors and authors. Birds, LLC is committed to diversity and representing minority voices in the poetry marketplace.
