By publishing serious works that contribute to a global understanding of human affairs from a range of Christian perspectives, Saint Katherine College Press participates in the discovery and dissemination of Inquiry Seeking Wisdom, which is a central purpose of the College. The publications of the Press are the Saint Katherine Review (quarterly) and books and other materials that further scholarly investigation, advance interdisciplinary dialogue, stimulate public debate, educate both within and outside the classroom, and enhance cultural life. The Press is committed to increasing the range and vigor of intellectual pursuits within the College and elsewhere.
A book prospectus of the following kind should be submitted irrespective of whether the book has already been written or not. It should contain as much information as you yourself would require to offer a meaningful evaluation. There is no prescribed length for such outlines but they will tend to be at least 5 pages long. They should in all cases include the following information:
the title of the book,
a description of its rationale and scope,
an explanation of how it relates to other books on the topic that have been published recently,
a breakdown of the table of contents with descriptions of the contents of each chapter, or in the case of a textbook either a complete table of contents or syllabus
a description of the intended readership,
details of the proposed length of the book and its intended completion date, and brief credentials of the author (a full curriculum vitae/resume is not required). (See website for details)
