Formed as a Texas nonprofit in December 2016, Kallisto Gaia Press publishes The Ocotillo Review as a print only journal biannually (Winter & Summer). We acquired publication rights to the Texas Poetry Calendar from Dos Gatos Press. Our first issue of TPC is the 2019 calendar which released July of 2018.

The Ocotillo Review strives to publish voices from underrepresented international communities alongside established writers.

We take unpublished Short fiction (1k-4.2k words), Poetry (up to 60 lines), Flash Fiction (up to 500 words), and Narrative Nonfiction (1k to 4k words) exclusively through Submittable. We charge a $3.00 reading fee. We compensate all authors we publish. Poems and Flash fiction pieces receive 25USD. Short Fiction and Narrative Nonfiction pieces receive 50USD. All payments outside the contiguous US are made through PayPal. We welcome all subject matter except erotica and hate speech. Our annual contests in poetry and short fiction pay $1000.00 to each winner and require a $20,00 entry fee. (See website for details)
