Founded in 2011, the literary journal bosque showcases fiction, poetry, nonfiction, and art. Each March, we hold an international fiction contest. We are an annual print journal. Each year, in addition to the contest winners, we highlight our bosque discovery, a first-published short story by a new writer or a story by an emerging writer, and the Editors’ Prize for Poetry. While our journal is national and international in scope, we are grounded in the Southwest––our name, bosque, refers to the great cottonwood forests along the Rio Grande River. We are based in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

Our journal, while national and international in scope, is grounded in the art and literature of the Southwestern U.S.
Open submissions are every July in all genres. In the month of March, we accept entries for our fiction contest through Submittable. Prose is limited to 5000 words. We prefer receiving 3-4 poems rather than one poem.
