Writers Resist is a literary collective born of the 2016 U.S. Presidential Election. We publish creative expressions of resistance by diverse writers and artists from around the globe, and we’re dedicated to challenging all things that diminish our nation’s quest for equality, freedom, justice and a healthy planet for all—while having a bit of fun.
Although we are not a 501(c)(3), neither are we for profit; we rely on contributions to sustain the publication.

Please submit works that can be reasonably described as expressions of resistance, whether poetry, fiction, narrative nonfiction, essays or images.
We publish with the intent that the works will be shared far and wide, so please submit only if you are comfortable making your published submissions available to the world via a Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivs license.
We would like folks to consider donating their work to the resistance cause, but we know how lovely it is to be paid for our art. Consequently, we pay a token pittance of $10 per accepted submission not previously published, including on personal blogs and websites, Facebook, Medium, and any other social media and content-sharing sites—ever, anywhere in the universe.
We do accept previously published work, but those pittances are for work first published by Writers Resist.
