  • Mission Statement / Editorial Focus
Our piccioletta barca, or ‘little boat’, aims to embark upon a journey without a destination; a platform from which we can explore interests and passions from a diverse group of disciplines. Ranging from music to art, philosophy and literature, we have attempted to delve into the intricacies of thought, without allowing content or form to constrain us. Each issue is centred around a stimulus, which we will approach and investigate from different angles, producing pieces upon the thoughts and feelings that it inspires. Due to the inherently subjective nature of associations, many of the works produced will have little to no apparent relations to the stimulus. Instead, we ask that the works are treated as independent projects, and hope that they stimulate discourse and inspiration for the reader, as much as they do for us.

  • Submissions policy
Calls for submissions are advertised on our Submittable page (linked below), which charges a minor reading fee in order to cover the Submittable and WebHosting expenses of the journal. We have opted for this fee instead of populating our website with ads (we are entirely ad-free, and will remain so) or charging any subscriptions to readers, so that our writers gain the utmost publicity in an aesthetically pure context. We are open to submissions in all forms and genres, be they classical or experimental. We do not require any institutional affiliations or previous publication history; all submissions are judged based purely on the value of the piece itself. Contributors retain all rights to their pieces, and are free to reprint them in other publications at any point in the future. Due to funding limitations, we are currently unable to provide any payment to our authors. We will however do our best to publicise and promote their work through our network. (See website for details)
